In modern manufacturing, enhancing efficiency and reducing manual labor are crucial. To address the bottlenecks of traditional manual operations, we have implemented comprehensive automation improvements in our factory's label printing and scanning processes.

Challenges of Traditional Manual Processes

During the label printing process, we used to manually roll the printed labels with specialized fixtures for easier storage. This manual rolling was not only time-consuming but also labor-intensive. Additionally, we had to scan each printed label one by one to check for errors. The high frequency of scanning tasks easily led to worker fatigue, reducing overall work efficiency.

Automation Improvement Measures

To address these challenges, we implemented the following automation improvements:

1. Automatic Label Rolling: Replacing manual label rolling with automatic label rolling significantly reduced manual operation time.

2. Automatic Scanning: Replacing manual scanning with automatic scanning improved the accuracy and speed of label inspection.

Improvement Process

First, we began designing the parts and then started the machining process. Next, we assembled the brackets using third-generation lean pipes and began adjustments to ensure all components were accurately aligned. To ensure smooth power transmission, we used a rubber band specifically designed for power transmission.

After installing the automation equipment, we conducted testing and adjustments. The results showed that the equipment ran smoothly. Once the labels were rolled, we could easily remove the two cover plates along with the labels. After removing the cover plates, the labels were neatly stored.

For the automatic scanning improvement, we simply fixed the barcode scanner onto the pre-assembled lean pipe bracket and aligned the label exit guide screen to achieve the desired result.

- Time saved per day: 5 hours (equivalent to RMB 105 per day)

- Annual cost savings: RMB 38,325
