Fulltech Casting has its own mold design department, which enables us to respond quickly to customer product characteristics and material requirements. We can independently develop, design, and manufacture molds to ensure the quality and efficiency of the products we produce, meeting customer needs and standards. Compared with external mold design companies, our in-house design team is more familiar with the company's products and production processes, allowing for smoother design and manufacturing. To ensure production stability, our mold designs all adopt high-strength structural designs, and we use industry-high standards for mold material selection. Below is a brief introduction to the commonly used mold materials in our factory.

The materials used in mold structures are generally divided into two types: core parts and frame parts.

SWPH13 steel

The core parts of the mold, such as mold inserts, sliders, and mold cores, use high-durability SWPH13 steel. SWPH13 steel is an ultra-refined H13 steel produced by SHANGHAI BAOSTEEL SPECIAL METALS CO., LTD.. This material is refined outside the furnace, with particle fineness five times that of ordinary H13. SWPH13 also uses gas-protected electroslag and high-temperature homogenization treatment and ultra-refining technology to develop hot work die steel. This material has excellent toughness, wear resistance, high isotropy, excellent thermal shock resistance, and excellent resistance to thermal cracking, equivalent to Sweden's 8407 steel!

Depending on the requirements, the heat treatment hardness can reach HRC44°~52°, mainly used in high-precision aluminum, magnesium, and copper alloy die-casting molds to maximize the total production count of the mold.

738H pre-hardened steel

The trial molds use 738H pre-hardened steel, developed based on P20 (3Cr2Mo), also known as the improved P20 steel grade. With a hardness of HRC35°, it can undergo high-frequency hardening or surface nitriding treatment. This material has high surface finish, excellent wear resistance, hardness, and corrosion resistance.

S50C Steel

The mold frames and other component steels all use quenched and tempered S50C steel. S50C steel is a medium-carbon structural steel and is the most widely used steel type. It has a wide range of applications, good machining performance, good strength and toughness, and excellent mechanical properties after heat treatment. It can undergo high-frequency treatment, but its weldability is relatively poor compared to low-carbon steel. It is often used in structural parts, automotive parts, and mechanical parts.
